An Art Exhibition in Minnamurra NSW
On a balmy Friday evening I drove from work straight to the Minnamurra Café for Julie Bagnall’s art exhibition aptly named “Perfect World”. I was met with a glass of champagne and an intimate but jovial gathering of family, friends and fellow artists spilling out onto the sidewalk who had come together to support this talented lady.
For this art exhibition, Julie has indulged in her love of art to create a well correlated collection of paintings. Her love of children and animals and all the innocence and spontaneity they bring to the world has inspired her and this shines through her paintings. She has presented her… “Perfect World”.
The Café walls were filled with Julie’s collection of large vertical and horizontal format paintings in oils , and a number of smaller paintings depicting birds and landscapes. The late afternoon light and the warm sea breeze flowing through the café set the scene for a relaxing evening in a gorgeous setting.
The larger oil paintings revealed interestingly cropped perspectives of her subjects .But I found the little gems of the exhibition were her new foray into watercolours capturing willy wagtails , kookaburras and owls. These were painted with beautiful detail and a true to life colour palette.
Positive comments were floating around the space as we admired this lovely collection of heart-warming and sincere art.
The Minnamurra Café was the perfect setting for Julie’s exhibition .It provided abundant wall space , a beachy vibe , fresh, simple food and an atmosphere of relaxed familiarity.
It is refreshing to see an artist paint what they love for the love of painting. Well done Julie.
PS: Julie’s exhibition is still on until 27th March
